Chicago artist Matt Bergstrom is known for his meticulous Chicago architectural paper models. His series of postcard build-your-owns lets you cut out and create tiny models of 31 Chicago landmarks--from the Wrigley Building and Marina city, to the El train lines and the Water Tower.
And then there are his charming collections of kid-friendly paper-house kits and books from Dover .
But if we're talking about Chicago food as architecture, there's nothing more iconic than the Chicago-style hotdog. Bergstrom's paper model hotdog--complete with mustard, relish & onion-topped hotdog, poppy seed sprinkled bun, perfect pickle spear, sport peppers and tomatoes, is a wonder. I had so much fun photographing it. Stay tuned for how to get your own model soon!
